Osbourne Gets Blue Doberman

Kelly Osbourne of Ozzy Osbourne fame has received a blue doberman puppy from her brother Jack. The puppy will be trained to be a guard dog for her home in Los Angeles and to protect her from potential intruders.
In a post on Twitter.com, she wrote, “My brother got me a blue Doberman puppy that he is training to be a protective dog. She is so beautiful and smart… intruders beware!!! I’m so excited.
“The only down side is that he can’t live with me for about 6 months because of all the training.”
That blue doberman puppy will have an important job when it grows up. What do you think this doberman’s future life will be like as a celebrity guard dog?

All depends on how much time, attention, and training she will give to the dog. Too many folks think you can just plop a dobe in a yard and it will be robo guard. Still she has the financial resources to get excellent training and care advise so if she really cares about it and it’s not just a passing fancy the dog should do well.

I am pleased that she has chosen a Doberman. I just hope the training is top quality and that socialization is a main part of the training. I personally prefer to have the dog live at home from a puppy for bonding to the owner and a trainer that will come in daily. She has the money so do it the right way.

Blue & Fawn dobes typically have alopecia issues. I hope Jack AND Kelly realize that dobermans need regular human contact and while they make excellent guard dogs, they still require being humanized on a regular basis. The fact that its a blue doberman makes me think Jack got it for her because he thought it would be “cool” cause it’s “blue”. Based on how the family interacts w/their pets on Ozzy’s show, I personally would never give any of them an animal and especially not a doberman…. but that’s just me.

This should be interesting. A doberman with the Osbornes. They will need Cecar Millan before this is over. Trust me. The dog will run the place no question. Yikes.
