Doberman Hybrid Dogs

It was just a matter of time before the hybrid dog trend brought about some new creations. Hybrid dogs are the result of mating two different purebred dogs. Donnie the Doberman Arranges Toys

July 20th, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Doberman Videos, Interesting

Donnie is an interesting dobe in that he shows unusual behaviour. National Geographic featured him on their “Genius Dogs” show. He arranges his stuffed toys into specific patterns of circles or triangles. It’s not clear what the motivation for his behaviour is. Is it thought out, random or is it just creative expression? It is bizarre to watch Donnie in the video. Especially touching is the mention of the day after the very first time Donnie let his owner put her arm around him. He then began organizing his toys in hugs, arm in arm. Very interesting. Babara Smuts, a university professor is now researching this behavior.

What do you think Donnie is expressing with his toy arranging behaviour.

Doberman Pinscher Names

Looking for suggestions of dog names for a doberman?

This list will expand over time but here’s a start. Some of these are famous dobermans and some are just really great doberman puppy names. Dogs are special animals and therefore deserve special names. Dobermans even more so, they deserve a majestic, strong, royal dog, so here are some favorites. Also keep in mind when choosing a name that it’s a good idea to pick a name that has 2 or 3 syllables. It makes it easier for dogs to clearly understand and learn their name. If you want to change your dogs name (which you can do at any age), start off my combining the old name with the new name, for example Fido-Zeus. In time your dog will associate the new name as his and you can then drop the old name. More »
