Taping Doberman Ears

Many people have questions on taping doberman ears so I felt this post was needed.  My previous post on doberman ears generated a lot of comments so new doberman owners may want to start there.  A common concern is that the ears won’t stand, it may be a case where you need to keep re-posting them for weeks.  When in doubt, keep re-posting the ears. The DPCA (or Doberman Pinscher Club of America) and Mistletoe Breeders have a great article with lots of photos to guide you on taping puppies.

Dobe Video – Abused Doberman Gets New Life

This video might make you a bit teary eyed but I think it deserves sharing. It’s also a great reminder that wonderful dobermans can be found at humane societies and rescues around the country.  As much as we love our purebred dobes, lets also remember doberman crosses or mixes also make great pets. Please support your local doberman rescue or humane societies.

Ramsey the Doberman Pinscher

Ramsey is a beautiful black doberman who is quite popular on youtube. Ramsey’s buddy is a chihuahua named Pablo. Together the two dogs are pretty amusing to watch. I’m sure Ramsey’s appeal is that people don’t usually imagine an intimidating looking doberman having a chihuahua pal.

On a similar note, here’s a picture of my doberman, Zoe with another unusual roommate, a white lop-eared rabbit named BonBon. They didn’t actually play together but the fact that my doberman didn’t consider Bon-Bon a snack is pretty cool.
