Category: Photo of the Month

Help me Obi Wan Kenobi. Halloween is coming up. Do you dress up your dogs?

Here are two wonderful old photos of Dobermans.   These were found at this forum link,  http://www.dobermantalk.com/doberman-related-chat/1923-history-dobermann-4.html In the first photo, you can see 3 well-trained Dobermans and one stubborn Doberman waiting for a treat. In the second photo, according to the forum poster, ” shows 2 Dobermann v. Radeland back in the 50’ties, advertising for a dog show in Berlin.” It would be nice to see all these vintage photographs compiled into one beautiful reference book.

Do you need to convince people to stay off your property? Maybe a Guard Dog Sign will help.

The only information I could find is that it’s maybe of Polish or Ukrainian origin. He might be a soldier from the battle of Lwow or Lviv from 1914-1915. Even the chair is very ornate and should provide clues as…

Some photographs manage to touch our hearts. No words are needed to express the emotional impact they have.  One such photo and a popular  dog photograph is that of the fireman being licked by a Doberman. The photo really is memorable and it’s easy to see why it’s so special. But what’s the story behind it? Who is that fireman and doberman, and what happened? Unfortunately like some things circulating on the internet, the story is not all factual. Thanks to the Snopes website we have the real story behind this photo. (Snopes investigates rumours and urban legends to get…
